This month's youkai in Youkai Year are Makami/Ookami, Yuki Onna. Yuki Onna also has a secret color variant, Amaterasu!

Yuki Onna translates to "Snow Woman." She appears in the mountains during snowstorms to prey on lost travelers.

The color variation for Amaterasu is based on the Sun Goddess. Amaterasu is a part of Shinto mythology; she is viewed to rule over the world and the High Celestial Plain (Takama no Hara) which is the realm of the gods.

Makami or Oguchi no Makami, translated as “Great Mouth True God,” they are divine wolf youkai. They are considered mountain guardians and seen to protect against evil and fires.

Ookami in Shinto are considered messengers of the kami. They are also seen as protectors.
